About the event

In keeping with the 2025 “Power to the Pebble” Pultneyville Homecoming theme, the Williamson-Pultneyville Historical Society (W-PHS) invited Gene Bavis, noted area speaker and Walworth Historian, to give a special presentation on Cobblestone Masonry at Homecoming.
While the topic of Cobblestone Masonry is of special interest to Gene, it is one about our shared heritage that celebrates the bounty of both field and shore used in cobblestone architecture which still today dots our landscape. While fewer in number in 2025, Williamson alone boasted 23 fine examples of cobblestone structures out of the 184 that were documented in Wayne County in 1979. Pultneyville itself is steeped in cobblestone history and has many fine examples of this type of construction within walking distance in the hamlet.
