Noted historian and collector, David Malgee, will present his captivating talk, "Too Brave a Man to Live: The life and death of Col. Eliakim Sherrill."
Eliakim Sherrill was a humble tanner and farmer who rose to prominence as a U.S. Congressman and New York State Senator before becoming the Colonel of the 126th New York Infantry. Despite his remarkable journey and a career that ended with his mortal wounding at the Battle of Gettysburg, Sherrill remains a relatively unknown figure.
